ACTIVATION
We’ll have two activations for our ‘Peace Out, Plastics’ Wave.
Activation 1
Activation 1 will be a beach clean-up on Saturday morning from 10:30am-12pm at Arroyo Burro Beach in Santa Barbara. Alison Teal will team up with LoaTree, Explore Ecology and Save the Mermaids at the Watershed Resource Center, providing a brief introduction and welcome before hitting the beach for some good, clean fun! Come one, come all – and bring the kids! This event is FREE.
Activation 2
Activation 2 will take place on Saturday afternoon (12pm), also at the Watershed Resource Center at Arroyo Burro Beach. At this event, participants will be joined by Ventura-based ‘The Refill Shoppe’ as they create their own unique, up-cycled products while enjoying mimosas, non-alcoholic beverages, and local appetizers. ‘What’s on tap,’ you ask? Participants will make their own toothpaste, laundry detergent, storage-ware and other household necessities out of local and non-toxic ingredients, taking them home in re-used and re-usable jars and containers.
Activation 2 is extremely limited.
